“Dark Country” (2009)
The plot takes off at the speed of a tortoise that just smoked a joint. The characters are incredibly annoying, frustrating, and unlikable. The premise is moderately interesting, but the twist at the end, which basically the entire film hangs on, is very predictable from very early on. The actors acquit themselves well to the noir/pulp film style, but it’s not enough to make this any less of a tedious movie-watching experience.
